The account setup of blogger seems to be simpler than that of wordpress - the first option we tried. At least simpler in our environment. We have CA Secure Content Manager as our firewall software. We find that forms that push refreshed content to us are sometimes blocked by this software. Blogger setup didn't include the forms problem or involve an emailed password - a further advantage.
Our next task is to set up class with their own blogs. We liked the ability to allow access to a blog based on email address as we (teachers) have easy access to these yet student email addresses remain relatively anonymous.
It will be interesting to see how the students transfer their existing skills (eg BEBO, MSN, GoogleTalk) to this new context.
Most useful blog - both the theory and the pragmatic reality http://www.teachandlearn.ca/blog/
